REVIEW: The Road by Cormac McCarthy

A father and his young son walk alone through burned America, heading slowly for the coast. Nothing moves in the ravaged landscape save the ash on the wind. They have nothing but a pistol to defend themselves against the men who stalk the road, the clothes they are wearing, a cart of scavenged food--and each other.

This book tells the story of a man and his son's struggling journey to the south in a world that does not exist anymore.

Each day they travel as far as they can with what daylight they have and camp during the night in all weather conditions savaging for food, clothes and blankets. When things seem to get to the point of ending they push that little bit further and survive.

This is a very powerful journey which i found difficult to put down and shows the love and bound between the man and his son.
